Last Thursday the Razor clan took over the Barnardo’s store in Marylebone for their Store Wars fundraising challenge. We had an AWESOME day, lots of fun was had by all and, most importantly, lots of money was raised for Barnardo’s!
Our challenge was to beat their average daily takings, and I’m so proud to say we managed to QUADRUPLE them from £300 to almost £1,200 AND we donated over £3,000 worth of stock!
All of the Razors got really stuck in, Steve donned a fetching pink ladies hat and jacket for the day and did a great job getting people in off the street, Sam Dodd did some live modelling in the store window, Sam Siva proved to be a very popular tombola prize and we all got dressed up and ran around the streets trying to get people into the Barnardo’s shop to buy buy buy!
We had some amazing donations and help on the day. The local businesses in Marylebone were extremely generous, we had raffle prizes donated from The Ginger Pig, La Fromagerie, bags from Mimco, loads of shoes from Agnes & Rose, a dinner at Strada and some beautiful handbags from Vive. We also had lots of help from our friends – we had Jimmy Choos donated, stylists who dressed us up to make sure we grabbed as much attention as possible and the fabulous Jake Morley and John Parker even came in and played some live music in-store! It was absolutely fabulous working with Barnardo’s. Every single person we met from head office to the store staff were so friendly, helpful and clearly passionate about working for a great cause. We were thrilled to be able to help out in some small way, and some of us even had a tear in our eye when they announced our total. We loved every minute of it, in fact, I think we might sign up again next year!
Here’s what Ben from Barnardo’s had to say “Thank you a thousand times over for putting so much into your Store Wars. In fact… thank you £1197.89 times over – that’s a 364% increase for Bev’s shop. Your enthusiasm, energy, creativity and goodwill was fabulous”
Here are some pictures of us in action.
